A history of Missile Development 1946 - 1948 conducted by the US Navy and Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.
These early experiments in missile flights at Topsail Island were undertaken to update our weaponry and usher in rocket technology in the US Military.
By technological definition, the bumblebee cannot fly. So this apparently impossible mission was code named "Operation Bumblebee."
